    Inspire me... Art Month Sydney

As the first days of autumn roll in we're feeling the culture today at Tluxe HQ, and what better way to spend a rainy weekend like the one we've just experienced here in Sydney, than traipsing around the art galleries for a little inspiration. This week heralds the start of Art Month, and personally we're loving the after hours gallery openings, which usually involve a cocktail or two alongside your culture.

This week the galleries of Paddington and Woollahra open up Thursday, March 7 as part of a series of 'Precinct Nights', followed by art spaces in Waterloo and Alexandria on Friday, March 8. We're loving Helen Mueller's hand cut woodblock prints of a melaleuca forest at the Brenda May gallery, pictured, and Caroline Rothwell's images of endangered Australian animals made from the black carbon residue collected from exhaust pipes.

    Autumn/winter 2013 inspiration

Here's a little something we put together earlier... just one of the moodboards for our new season collection, The Journey, which lands in stores this week. To be the first to know when the latest looks arrive to our online store, sign up to our news alerts here.

    Soaking up summer

In the mad rush before Christmas today we’re all about taking a little moment to enjoy all the Australian summer has to offer.  Even if it just means soaking up the warmth of these images taken at Sydney's Ryde swimming pool by photographer, Ingeborg Tyssen who spent a good deal of her early career documenting the suburbs of ‘70s Australia. You can see more of her work if you’re in Melbourne over the Christmas break, at the Monash Gallery of Art

Inspire me… the perfect travel wardrobe

So you’ve got your beach house booked for your summer break and with the mayhem of Christmas haven’t a second to think about what to pack? Let us do the work for you. Our top tips? Keep it simple with some mix and match separates, add a dress for cocktail hour, take fabrics that are light, roll up easily in your suitcase (like our Tluxe organic cotton and luxe silk combos) and most of all, have fun with colour and print because… you’re on holiday! Enjoy.

    How to wear... sunset orange

With summer now officially here it’s time to break out the sunset tones of orange, a favourite mood-enhancer here at Tluxe HQ especially on a day like today with the skies clouding over.

A constant on the catwalks for next summer 2013 our top tip is to add tangerine as a punch of colour to lift a neutral outfit. You can do it with accessories, like Fendi’s bags for spring/summer 2013 (pictured above) but there’s nothing like a bolt of sartorial orange, such as our Pearl silk and organic cotton top, to add some 2012 now to your wardrobe.

Another alternative is to let your trousers do the talking with our Sandy Lane harems. Team them with a neutral top and some simple, tan sandals and accessories.  Or if you love bold brights, try colour-blocking with a vibrant red shirt.

If your style is more chic than street, we’re loving the way Giovanna Battaglia, editor of L'Uomo Vogue, tones down electric orange with a simple caramel silk scarf.

Orange is the colour for summer dresses right now and going forward well into next summer. You can get yours today in super luxe silk and organic cotton, lovingly made and designed right here in Sydney by the Tluxe team. Here’s to summer. Enjoy!
