Today we’re feeling the love for our palm print, designed and printed right here in Sydney. A unique digital take on the trees that line many of our streets and local beaches here in Australia, when we think of palm trees we’re instantly transported to endless summer holidays spent lazing by the ocean and sipping cocktails as the sun goes down.

That holiday feeling inspired by palm-tree lined promenades from La Croisette on the French Riveria to Beverley Hills and Waikiki has a long history, as you can see from our vintage postcard finds above.

It also has a bright future with palms being the inspiration du jour for many of the prints gracing the spring/summer 2013 catwalks. To capture a little of that holiday spirit now and stay ahead of the fashion curve, dive into the Tluxe selection of palm print; silk T-shirts, dresses, shirts and super chic trousers. It's a sure fire way to instantly pep up your look and provide a hit of seaside glamour whether your heading to the office or hitting the pool.

We’ve been loving the oceans of green tones hitting the catwalks for spring/summer 2013, especially as it’s one of our key colours in the current Tluxe summer collection, which you can wear now! Above is just a few of our favourite looks from the past few weeks, direct from the world’s catwalks... and below, a few choice new season Tluxe pieces, so you can enjoy the goodness of green right now. But be quick, these little numbers won’t be around forever.

      Inspire me... autumn brights

There’s nothing like a zing of colour to brighten up a dull autumn day and with the international round of catwalk shows coming to an end in Paris last week, it seems many of the world’s top designers agree bold brights such as tangerine are not just for summer. Next autumn/winter vibrant shades of orange will be big news.

Always thinking ahead of the curve our design team here at Tluxe have included highlights of tangerine in our latest autumn/winter collection, now on sale. If you fancy being a little fashion-forward why not try out some zesty flame tones right now with our new silk California top, and fresh online today, our long sleeved jersey knit and super slinky long johns both in super-soft merino wool.

If you’re not into shout-out-loud colour as seen at Lanvin (pictured left, above), Calvin Klein (pictured right, above), and BCBG Max Azria (pictured centre) then we suggest turning down the volume just a little by teaming your new Tluxe top with a pair of slouchy charcoal trousers or a navy jacket. Go ahead, and brighten your day.

We love… Imelda the despotic queen of shoes

Its comments like these - “The Despotic Queen found Giannini's S/S11 contribution too safe and an utter disappointment, save for the woven knee-high peep toe boots which, in camel are sublimely inappropriate for summer in the Antipodes and thus highly covetable,” - that have made us fall head over heels for Imelda, Australia’s answer to all things fab in footwear.

With an international following that’s bagged the blog’s author, Matt Jordan, attention from the design studios of London to the former Filipino First Lady herself (“That Imelda has read my site [and not sued] is like being touched by the hand of God,” says Matt), this is one authority on footwear you really can’t afford not to add to your favourites list.

      Baroque meets disco

Statement accessories have been a catwalk staple for a few seasons now and are a great way to add a touch of wow to clean, minimalist dressing. Our current love affair is with Bottega Veneta’s new baroque meets disco jewellery, which will look great piled on with the clean lines of a Tluxe maxi dress or our Melissa O jumpsuit.

If you love the style but not the hefty price tag, nothing beats the joy of trawling a vintage market or auction house. Our personal favourite in Sydney is Mitchell Road Antiques. Keep your eyes peeled for Victorian-inspired pieces, or if you have a little more time, check out an auction, such as the fine jewellery sale at Lawsons, held once a month.
