      How to wear... sunset orange

With summer now officially here it’s time to break out the sunset tones of orange, a favourite mood-enhancer here at Tluxe HQ especially on a day like today with the skies clouding over.

A constant on the catwalks for next summer 2013 our top tip is to add tangerine as a punch of colour to lift a neutral outfit. You can do it with accessories, like Fendi’s bags for spring/summer 2013 (pictured above) but there’s nothing like a bolt of sartorial orange, such as our Pearl silk and organic cotton top, to add some 2012 now to your wardrobe.

Another alternative is to let your trousers do the talking with our Sandy Lane harems. Team them with a neutral top and some simple, tan sandals and accessories.  Or if you love bold brights, try colour-blocking with a vibrant red shirt.

If your style is more chic than street, we’re loving the way Giovanna Battaglia, editor of L'Uomo Vogue, tones down electric orange with a simple caramel silk scarf.

Orange is the colour for summer dresses right now and going forward well into next summer. You can get yours today in super luxe silk and organic cotton, lovingly made and designed right here in Sydney by the Tluxe team. Here’s to summer. Enjoy!

These are pieces that also happen to sit perfectly with some of the key looks from our new Tluxe summer collection, By the Ocean.

The insiders guide to… dream beaches

A quick look at the names of the individual pieces in our new summer collection and you may or may not have noticed that this season we’ve been inspired by classic beaches from around the world. Malibu, La Croissette, St Malo…

Yes we’re based in a country with some of the best coastline on the planet but it doesn’t stop us fantasizing about the beaches we’d love to go to in our dreams. It’s inspired many a water-cooler conversation this past few weeks, which we thought we’d share with you. So here we have it. Our top three best beaches we’ve ever been to:

Perhentian Islands, South China Sea, Malaysia. ‘The beaches are magical but it’s more about the lack of people… and that you can see some pretty amazing turtles.’ Rebecca Powell, creative director.

Trancoso, Bahia, Brazil. ‘Epic. I wish I was there now.’ Suzie Q, production manager extraordinaire.

Whitehaven, Whitsundays, Australia. ‘I pretty much traveled the entire southern coastline of Europe only to discover that the best beaches were at home. Whitehaven was one of my first trips to a tropical beach.’ Verity Magdalino, digital editor.

This summer here at Tluxe we've created our very own take on the classic white oversized shirt in cool, crisp and planet-friendly woven organic cotton. This stolen-from-your-boyfriend style is the perfect beach cover-up, great for throwing over a bikini while having the added benefit of protecting your skin from the harshness of the midday sun.

We’re also loving the clean, simple styling ideas for boyfriend shirts that we’ve been seeing via the street style shots from around the world over the last few weeks, pictured above. Update your wardrobe with a little 2012 now by picking up your own oversized white shirt from our online store today – but be quick, this is a classic that simply flies off the rails.

      We love... lighting up Sydney

With the official start of spring our cultural calendars are set to overload. First up is Sydney’s Fringe Festival, which kicks off this week. Our personal favourites? The Fringe Art Forum for a supermarket sweep of all that’s happening on the Sydney art scene and In the Night Garden, a collection of light sculptures illuminating the back streets of St Peters, pictured top.

The other cultural event on our radar is Art and About, which launches later this month (September 21). Our wow factor bets are on Emergence, pictured above, where artists Craig Walshand Steven Thomasson bring the trees of Hyde Park to life in a luminous late night 3D installation. Magic.
