    Tluxe Blog — fashion week

Inspire me... the tonal colour block

This autumn we’re more about evolution than revolution. With this in mind we’ve taken last season’s trend for wearing vibrant blocks of colour and turned it into a subtler look by using tones of charcoal and navy blue.  We’ve also taken the hard work out of matching individual colours for you by combining them all into one piece. Cue our W t-shirt, Clarence maxi-dress, and One Aldwych pencil skirt.

And with our choice of blues a hit at the most recent round of catwalk shows for next autumn/winter, as seen above at Anne Valerie Hash (right) and Gianfranco Ferre (left), the Tluxe take on a more subtle, tonal colour block is a fashion-forward look that’ll see you well into next year and beyond.

    The future is already here...

“The future is already here — it's just not very evenly distributed.” William Gibson

Researching eco fashion tips and ways to make our lives easier we came across Slovakian designer Adrian Mankovecký’s award-winning concept for a portable stain cleaner, which he designed for the Swedish whitegoods brand, Electrolux. Genius.

And in other, more fashion-related news, we’ve been watching the New York catwalks as the international round of fashion weeks kicks off, and came across this pic of infamous US Vogue editor Anna Wintour, passing the time on her mobile phone while waiting for the start of Victoria Beckham’s show. You've got to admire a woman who is always on time, when the majority of the fashion industry during the next four weeks will be consistently late. This week, it's London's take on what we could be wearing next winter. For instant updates we're enjoying the view from the front row via The Guardian's Twitter feed.

    Flash mobs go fashion

What better way to kick off the week than with a fash-tastic flash mob under the shadow of the Eiffel Tower care of legendary queen of the wrap dress and Studio 54 icon, Diane von Furstenberg. Underlining the continuing trend for putting the fun back into fashion DVF herself headed up a dance routine of ladies in her fab print dresses getting down to the sounds of Chaka Khan‘s “I’m Every Woman”. Go girl.

    On trend... maxi skirts

We’ve been watching the street style blogs as much as the catwalks this last few weeks and are loving the fresh look of a long maxi skirt. From this season’s essential flowing numbers to the elongated column dress - which is being touted as the new basic shape for summer - we've selected a few of our favourite looks so you can see for yourself how easily this style can be dressed up or down. Try heels, a loose fit shirt and chunky accessories for a few evening drinks or leave it clean and casual with a simple T-shirt, slimline belt and flat sandals for weekend brunch. And don't forget you can buy the summer's all essential Tluxe maxi online here.
