The 'one-size fits most' top and dress

L'Hotel top                    Long chain earrings            Grand dress

One of the most inspiring things about working with Tluxe is the diversity of our customers. Whether you’re 60 or 20 you all have one thing in common, an inherent sense of your own style. With this in mind, each season we work on creating a dress and top, which look fantastic no matter what your size or age.

“A core element to Tluxe is our focus on fluid, lightweight fabrics, which we use to create a capsule range of flexible, one-size fits most pieces,” says our creative director, Becs. “This season it’s about our new colour-blocked L'Hotel top, which works well for day or night with a slim pencil skirt. And our go-to for instant style is the Grand dress. Style it up with the latest flatform shoes or your favourite pair of heels, add a slimline belt and a few of our fab new accessories. I’m loving the long chain earrings in up-cycled silver.

“Anyone can follow fashion, “ says Becs, “but the essence of Tluxe is about providing the basics to let you express your own sense of individual style.”

Inspire me... new year, new trends

The perfect summer hat: Ann Demeulemeester sun hat The perfect sunglasses: Persol Summer 2012 footwear: Simona Vanth

Welcome 2012! While many of our local readers are still enjoying their summer holidays we’d thought we’d offer a few tips for keeping cool, and of-the-moment whether you’re lazing by the pool or soaking up the sun’s rays by the beach.

The perfect summer hat:  We say stick with the classics and make it a wide-brimmed Fedora or floppy 70s-inspired sunhat a la Ann Demeulemeester's offering above – or if you appreciate the quality of handmade tradition, take a look at these beautiful Panama numbers, all the way from Ecuador.

Moving on from the see-it-everywhere Trilby, these handmade Fedoras have a certain chic sensibility in keeping with our very own Tluxe take on relaxed glamour with a Studio 54-style twist. And let’s face it, in the Australian sun a wide-brimmed hat is so much more than just a style investment. It will quite literally, save your skin.

The perfect sunglasses: Persols. Classic Italian heritage. Steve McQueen. Now in cool coloured frames. Need we say more?

2012 footwear: The most down-to-earth footwear trend for this summer, and next, is all about mixing a few found objects from your beachcombing with the look of raw leather, hammered metal, and earthy, rough-edged textures. We just love the look of these sandals from young Italian shoe designer, Simona Vanth.

We love… Imelda the despotic queen of shoes

Its comments like these - “The Despotic Queen found Giannini's S/S11 contribution too safe and an utter disappointment, save for the woven knee-high peep toe boots which, in camel are sublimely inappropriate for summer in the Antipodes and thus highly covetable,” - that have made us fall head over heels for Imelda, Australia’s answer to all things fab in footwear.

With an international following that’s bagged the blog’s author, Matt Jordan, attention from the design studios of London to the former Filipino First Lady herself (“That Imelda has read my site [and not sued] is like being touched by the hand of God,” says Matt), this is one authority on footwear you really can’t afford not to add to your favourites list.
