Today we're enjoying the cool after a hot and steamy Sydney weekend. We're wearing one of our super fine organic cotton Portofino T-shirts with a pair of Palm print silk trousers while mostly listening to the dulcet tones of Terry Callier, which is sitting so well with the laid-back summer vibe we're feeling at the moment we're making his classic 1972 album, What Colour is Love, our soundtrack to the week. Enjoy.
Continuing our celebration of colour, today we take a look at the cool oceanic tones that inspired us here at Tluxe HQ for summer 2012. The perfect daytime balance to the evening hues of warm sunset orange we featured last week, our emerald and lagoon shades of blue and green are inspired by the colours of the ocean sparkling against Sydney’s skyline on any given day of the week.
Not only do oceanic tones make you feel calm and look cool it’s a very now palette worth investing in. Perusing the more directional looks on the Spring/Summer 2013 catwalks, it’s no surprise that the ocean was a key inspiration for designers from London to New York. The Tluxe top tip? Wear it with an understated sparkle of metallic silver or bronze via a pair of flats strapped at the ankle, or show your fashion smarts by sporting next summer’s hot accessory now; a chunky, transparent cuff.
Today we're excited to announce that our new colours for high summer have just landed on the site! Inspired by the cobalt blue, gunmetal grey and flame orange tones of beachside sunsets, and, for those of you who prefer the tranquility of early morning, we’ve included some inspirational images of Bondi beach at sunrise, with thanks to photographer Eugene Tan.
Today we saw some daffodils. And some magnolias. In the sun. Then the
clouds descended and reminded us that it’s not quite spring. Yet. But we’re
close. Close enough to get excited and give you a preview of our new spring
collection By the Ocean, which is hitting the site in a little over a week’s
For spring/summer 2012 we’ve been inspired by the many colours of the
sea from deep and moody navy to jade and Bondi blue. We’re also excited to
introduce a digital palm print story, based on the lush semi-tropical tones and
textures of our local Sydney beaches (pictured above on our Arraial d’Ajuda
trousers and Cayo Largo dress). Botanical prints are not only a theme close to our hearts but are a
great way to update your summer wardrobe, being one of the more fashion-forward
trends to come off the catwalks this season.
Continuing the green theme we’ve created a new spin on a classic Breton
stripe with our St Tropez maxi dress (pictured above) in emerald. We're also rather proud of our new super luxe silk T-shirts. Be the first to take your pick from chic
and sexy black, navy, or bright and perky flamingo by signing up to our news
Here in Sydney the streets have been alive with the click of heels and some pretty fantastic styling tips, thanks to Australian Fashion Week, which came to a close late last week. Below you’ll find a few of our favourite looks from the past few days, from how to wear siren red trousers to the laid-back cool of the contemporary tux, worn with a loose-fit T-shirt. All great ideas from the experts, which also happen to have a touch of our own relaxed Tluxe style. Enjoy! (with thanks to Tommy Ton, Harper's Bazaar, and Fashionologie.)
