Hello and welcome to the Tluxe blog. This week, as winter really starts to kick in we’re obsessing over the
art of layering. Our secret to avoiding the bulky look of winter and keeping
warm and comfortable while looking svelte is to layer up your lightweight fabrics,
such as organic cotton and superfine merino wool.
Our favourite looks right now (pictured above left-to-right)
are; the luxury fleece Fatima Blush hooded poncho layered over a long sleeve
organic cotton Ling T-shirt, worn with our Paris Carver pencil skirt in
sustainable bamboo elastane; and for a cosy Sunday stroll to the local café,
grab our Mayday T-shirt, Kimberly Jones hooded cardy, and a pair of our luxury
cotton, wool and lycra Inga
For some expert tips on how to layer in style visit our
friends over at Harper’s Bazaar.
There’s nothing like starting a relaxed weekend with a wintry stroll across the cliff-tops overlooking one of our favourite stretches of coastline on the Bondi to Bronte walk. The bonus of winter by the beach: fewer crowds, and the chance of spotting a migrating southern wright whale.
Insider’s tip: If you’re taking the kids and want to skip the stairs at the start of the walk near Bondi Icebergs, head down Sandridge St
(off Bondi Rd), turn left onto Fletcher St, walk across Marks Park at the end
of the road et voilà – you’ll hit the walk on top of the headland with stunning
ocean views across to Bondi. Enjoy.
After dark: While you’re in Bondi, we’re also loving the slightly surreal feeling of ice-skating by the beach at the Winter Alpine Festival with its themed music nights, and Torvill and Dean-style performances on the weekends.

We’re not the only ones in love with the casual, slouchy
appeal of our Inga Bergstrom trousers. Seen here in Shop Til You Drop magazine,
the sustainable credentials of our luxury jersey clothing, proudly produced
here in Australia in collaboration with local makers, is quietly making waves
in the national press.
Also pictured is our favourite racer-back tank. Layer it
up now with some of our superfine organic cotton T-shirts and cosy, long, merino wool cardigans for the ultimate in luxury winter loungewear.
Behind the scenes at Tluxe HQ we’re loving our new swing
tags. Why? Not least because they’re clean
and pared back, with loving attention to detail but also because we’ve made the
effort to produce them locally as part of our ongoing bid for a lighter carbon
footprint in all we do.
We also tapped the talents of Parisian-born, now
Sydney-based designer Margaux Fraisse, who provided the graphic magic to make the tags happen. We love that
Margaux creates her own typefaces, often by hand and combines them with clean, cleverly simple
layouts. Margaux tells us: “I like when contradictions find harmonies.” Sounds
like our kind of lady.
We’re excited to announce Emma Balfour as the star of our new summer look book. One of the
original supermodels, Emma recently returned to the catwalk for Marc Jacobs and
Alexander Wang and was chosen by Phoebe Philo as the face of last winter’s
Emma is a mother earth at heart, spending a lot of time with
her two children in her home near Sydney’s Bondi beach. We love her laidback,
natural sense of style, which reflects the very essence of the Tluxe philosophy
of understated glamour.
Emma’s favourite pieces from the new spring/summer
collection, photographed by Andy Baker,
and styled by Rimma and our very
own Suzy Scott, are pictured
above. The collection hits stores August 1st and online August 8.
