    On trend... maxi skirts

We’ve been watching the street style blogs as much as the catwalks this last few weeks and are loving the fresh look of a long maxi skirt. From this season’s essential flowing numbers to the elongated column dress - which is being touted as the new basic shape for summer - we've selected a few of our favourite looks so you can see for yourself how easily this style can be dressed up or down. Try heels, a loose fit shirt and chunky accessories for a few evening drinks or leave it clean and casual with a simple T-shirt, slimline belt and flat sandals for weekend brunch. And don't forget you can buy the summer's all essential Tluxe maxi online here.

Inspire me... the classic white T-shirt

The classic white jersey T-shirt is an essential wardrobe staple come summer but how to style it so it looks of-the-moment? First make sure it flatters your shape, so it skims the body, like our very own classic Erin B style, or take a tip from the likes of Kate Moss and go for a slouchy scoop neck cut and team it with cropped patterned trousers, contrasted with the dressiness of a tailored tux jacket.

Kirsten Dunst also does a great job of working a casual T with the season’s hot cropped trouser. And we’re crazy about Gisele’s play on contrasts, dressing down her skirt and heels with the casual chic of a sexy, scoop neck white jersey basic. Rock on.

Dance into the week... with Charlotte and Alber

We’re loving the new dance-themed films coming our way right now. One of our favourite French film stars, the effortlessly cool Charlotte Gainsbourg, isn’t afraid to shake her groove thing in the music video for her debut single, Terrible Angels on what will be her fourth album, Stage Whisper out this November.

And while there’s been plenty of acclaim around the new film Pina by director Wim Wenders on the late dance choreographer Pina Bausch, the prize for the most entertaining cinematic moves this month arrives care of legendary Lanvin designer, Alber Elbaz.

In what must be a first for a luxury brand, Elbaz and models including Karen Elson and Raquel Zimmermann, dispense of the usual seductive posing of designer campaigns for an informal, tongue-in-cheek dance routine. We hope it makes you smile as much as we did.
